About the Author
MARY POPE OSBORNE is the author of the New York Times number one bestselling Magic Tree House series. She and her husband, writer Will Osborne (author of Magic Tree House: The Musical), live in northwestern Connecticut with their three dogs. 1. Jessica - 2/5 stars - I was really disappointed with "Magic Tree House Book 17". I have been a fan of the series for a long time, but this book just didn't live up to my expectations. The storyline felt weak and rushed, and the characters were not as engaging as in previous books. I also found the writing style to be lacking compared to other books in the series. Overall, I didn't enjoy reading this book and I wouldn't recommend it to others.
2. Alex - 1/5 stars - Honestly, "Magic Tree House Book 17" was a complete waste of time. The plot was predictable and uninteresting, the dialogue was boring, and the illustrations were lackluster. It felt like the author put minimal effort into this book and just wanted to rush out another installment in the series. I was really let down and expected much more from a Magic Tree House book. I won't be reading any more of the series if this is the direction it's going in.
3. Sarah - 3/5 stars - "Magic Tree House Book 17" was just okay for me. I felt that the story was too simplistic and didn't have enough depth. It lacked the sense of adventure and magic that I loved in previous books. The characters also felt a bit flat and I couldn't connect with them as much as I would have liked. While it wasn't terrible, it definitely wasn't one of my favorite books in the series. I hope future installments get back on track.

Unfortunately, this book fell short of my expectations and didn't deliver the sense of wonder and excitement I used to experience while reading the earlier books.
